ABOUT NAD

A NEW ERA FOR
NAMPA’S EVENT VENUES

On November 5, 2024, Nampa voters overwhelmingly approved the creation of the Nampa Auditorium District.

With this District in place, a dedicated funding mechanism – through a 5% user-fee on hotel rooms within the district boundaries – will support the ongoing expansion, remodel, or new facilities on our two existing properties including the Ford Idaho Center and the Nampa Civic Center.

This initiative is designed to reduce the tax burden on Nampa homeowners and property taxpayers by shifting a greater share of facility improvements to visitors who use the city’s venues and stay in local hotels.

The Nampa Auditorium District will also provide local control of investment decisions through a Board of Directors drawn from the district boundaries, ensuring that improvements and enhancements align with Nampa’s community and economic goals.

THE HISTORY

BUILT BY THE COMMUNITY

LOCAL MOMENTUM

It all started with a simple idea: make Nampa’s event venues even better for everyone. In 2023 and 2024 community supporters hit the streets, gathering signatures to put the auditorium district on the ballot. With a small hotel-stay fee, the district could fund upgrades to the Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center—helping our city shine, one event at a time.

VOTER APPROVED

On November 5, 2024, Nampa voters gave a resounding thumbs-up to the idea of creating an Auditorium District. With 61.1% in favor, the measure passed easily, setting the stage for a new way to support our community venues.

BOARD ACTION

In early 2025, the newly formed Board of Directors got to work, holding its first meeting on January 13 at the Ford Idaho Center Ticket Office. Since then, the Board has continued to meet monthly, ensuring the Auditorium District stays on track and remains ready to serve the community.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Board members serve staggered terms of either four or six years, depending on the seat, with elections held in May of odd-numbered years. This schedule ensures continuity and stability in leadership while giving the community regular opportunities to participate in the election process.
